Goa is one of the most loved tourist destinations in South India. It is probably the most visited tourist spot by foreigners who visit India. While it is possible that many other great destinations still remain unknown everybody knows about Goa. Such is the reputation of this tiny little state that boasts of some of the best beaches in peninsular India. This love of Goa is not a recent phenomenon. The Portuguese ambassador, who came to Goa in the year 1511, remarked that white people liked to visit Goa to enjoy the shade in the groves and also to savor the sweet betel leaves. This is a precursor to the generations that followed and indulge in the same activities. While in Goa you could stroll along the beaches, frolic on the sunny stretches, watch magnificent sunsets or savor the ancient beauty of the churches in Goa. Bambolim is one of the most scenic places in Goa. It is famous for its swaying palms, thick green foliage and pristine stretches of sunny beaches. Bambolim is a census town in the North Goa district. There are a few places of tourist attraction in and around Bambolim. Some of them include Bambolim Beach, Raj Bhavan, Arossim Beach, Miramar Beach, Sinquerim Beach, Vagator Beach, Baga Beach, Calangute Beach and the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. So there is a tremendous variety in the kind of tourist attractions that can be found in Bambolim. So come with your loved one and enjoy Bambolim. How to reach Bambolim:
By Air:  Bambolim does not have an airport. There is an airport in Dabolim which is an international airport. This airport is well connected to all other airports in India and to several important cities in the world. You could take the cabs or buses that ply from Dabolim to Bambolim. Distance is 57 km and it will take you an hour and 14 mins.
 
By Rail: The most important railway station in Goa is in Madgaon Junction. Since this is a main junction on the Konkan railway, all trains stop here.  You could take a taxi or buses that ply from Madgaon to reach Bambolim.
 
By Road: Bambolim is well connected by road to all parts of the state and country. There are national highways that pass through the state. There are frequent buses services and taxis are aplenty.
 
Best time to visit Bambolim:
The best time to visit Bambolim is between late October and early April. This is when Goa is at its most pleasant.
Tourist places in and around Bambolim:
There are several places of tourist importance in and around Bambolim. Some of them are Bambolim Beach, Raj Bhavan, Arossim Beach, Miramar Beach, Sinquerim Beach, Vagator Beach, Baga Beach, Calangute Beach and the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.
 
Bambolim Beach: The Bambolim beach is very famous for the multifarious activities that take place there. This beach is suitable for long walks with your loved one. It is also a beach that offers activities like beach volley ball, Para sailing, jet skiing, scuba diving and many more such fun filled activities. There are several places at the Bambolim beach where one can get a ayurvedic massage.
 
Arossim Beach: the Arossim Beach is just to the south of Velasco and is a stunningly beautiful beach that is a haven for enthusiaste of water sports and adventure activities. Arossim Beach resort will perfectly suit those tourists who are trying to escape from noisy overcrowded cities and crazy, rapidly-flying everyday life and spend their holidays lying on the beach under tender sunbeams, swimming in warm ocean waters and taking water sports exercises.
 
Miramar Beach: Miramar Beach: this is one of the most famous beaches in Panaji. Miramar Beach is the closest beach to Panaji, 3 km west along the Mandovi estuary as it opens into the Arabian Sea. Miramar is a commercialized beach that panders mainly to the tourists that flock the city. This beach is very often crowded and has plenty of shops lining the beach that sell handicrafts, t-shirts and beach wear.
 
Sinquerim Beach: Sinquerim has the distinction of being the oldest and the first tourist beach in North Goa. It is a beautiful stretch that is known for the clean waters and clean beach. It is a very famous beach. The beach is lined with numerous shacks and restaurants that serve typical goan cuisine.
 
Vagator Beach: the Vagator Beach is close to the Anjuna Beach. The beach is characterized by the red cliffs that look down on the shore and where two fresh water springs exist within a stone's throw of the sea. Vagator beach is essentially in two parts. One part has lots of shops that sell curios and the other part is the Ozran Beach. There is a little flea market held on Wednesdays on the Anjuna Beach and this is a very popular event that attracts tourists.
 
Baga Beach: the Baga Beach is a very famous beach that is in Calangute. The Baga beach is characterized by the brown sands and creek. The beach is visited by thousands of tourists every year. The beach is named after the Baga creek that empties into the Arabian Sea. The beach is also famous for the sports activities and the dolphin cruises that are offered.
 
Calangute Beach: Calangute Beach: the calangute beach is known as the queen of beaches in Goa. It is one of the most popular beaches in Goa and attracts a large number of tourists every year. The beach in Calangute is also the perfect tourist haven, completed with shacks and stalls under the shade of palm trees selling everything from fried prawns and beer, to trinkets made of seashells.
 
Salim ali bird sanctuary: this bird sanctuary is named after one of the most famous ornithologists in the world, Dr Salim Ali. It is located on the western tip of the island of Chorao. This is Goa's only bird sanctuary, 1.8 Sq Km in area. A variety of local and migratory birds can be found on this island. This Sanctuary is criss-crossed with a network of water channels.
