Bicholim is a city and a municipal council in the Northern part of Goa. It is located at a distance of 30 km from Panjim. Bicholim is a major educational and commercial centre in Goa. Bicholim is very different from the conventional Goan tourist destination. There are no beaches in Bicholim. However nature has blessed Bicholim with idyllic landscapes that are dotted with pristine and serene lakes and gushing waterfalls. The tranquil Mayem lake is a major tourism destination in Bicholim. Located amidst rolling hills and surrounded by a peaceful countryside, the lake beckons tourists with its picture-postcard settings. The Arvalem caves are ancient rock cut caves dating back to the 5th century. Also known as 'Pandavas Caves,' the cave complex draws tourists and archeologists alike.  The Saptokoteshwar temple in Narve village is a sacred Shiva temple. The temple is dedicated to Saptokoteshwar, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The Arvalem waterfall near the Arvalem caves is another attraction of the Bicholim tourism scenario. Thus it can be seen that Bicholim is indeed a Goan destination with a difference. It is a glimpse into the Goa that is blessed by nature. Bicholim is a destination for those who would like to spend some time with their loved ones in a verdant paradise. It is a place that a nature lover will love to go. So come and discover a paradise within Goa.
