I visited Amarkantak last year with my family. I think Amarkantak is a wonderful and attractive place to enjoy with family. Amarkantak is in Madhya Pradesh just about 120 kilometers away from Bilaspur and some 220 kilometers from Bandhavgarh, the famous tiger reserve. According to me Amarkantak is a superb city to stay. We visited two main temples. The narmada udgam temple and the sonakshi shaktipeeth temple. Armada is an attractive temple at the very source of Narmada River is a delightful place to roam in. And sonakshi temple is one among such Shaktipeeths where the devotees flock together to receive the blessings of a benevolent goddess. It was a fantastic experience to me and my family. I visited many other attractive places like Dudh dhara falls, Kapildhara, Old archaeological temple, Mataji ki Baggi, Shiva Temple and Jain Temple etc. It was a great experience! I think amarkantak is not a shopping destination. Religious photographs and other souvenirs are available in the market. We can get very good and quality foods from ashrams and dharamshala..Generally it was a wonderful trip and I would absolutely love to visit the Amarkantak once again.
